Winterfield 4 MOCGC 1

Winterfield Woe for MoCGC

< View other News Stories

MOCGC went down 4-1 at Winterfield, Dunbar in the latest round of East Lothian Winter League Matches. Once again most of the matches were close but the illusive killer touch still seems to be missing. Seve Gray and Stuart Carroll went down at the 18th and are fast becoming our most unfortunate pairing. Nearly every match seems to go down the 18th! Norman Horsburgh and Derek MacLeod would also ran their hosts close but succombed  by 1 hole. Ally Hunter and Chris Abbot would win their match by 3&2 and are becoming our most productive pair. Scott Greig & Gary Grigg again failed to gel and lost 4&3. Andrew Biurnside & Colin Whoriskey lost 5&4.

Team Selector Billy Finnigan has promised changes for the next match v North Berwick at The Old Course and hopefully we will find the right ingredients to turn lady luck in our favour. This is not to say our hosts did not play well and we must take nothing away from Winterfield who deserved their victory on the day.

It is a learning curve our lads are on and we hope the lessons of how tough this league is and we do need to respond to that. Hopefully we all the guys will consider the matches they have played in and come back stronger for their next game. The whole club wishes them well and should be sure they have our full support.
