It was also unfortunate the Winter League team went down heavily to Longniddry last Sunday. It was a case of not holing the putts when needed while our visitors seemed to miss little. All of the matches except one were very close and in truth, could have gone either way. However it was not to be and we will have to hope our putting improves when we visit Kilspindie this weekend. The Juniors did win again and we must congratulate Euan Glen and Matthew Craigie on a fine performance.

A reminder for those who wish to play Muirfield next year. All 40 spaces have now been taken. However, only a few have actually paid their greenfee. Please let me have your £55 by 1 November or you risk losing your spot. It will be a case of first paid will be given preference. You can send us your payment through this website by clicking on the Muirfield Visit item in the News section or at the club with cash, cheque or any major credit/debit card.

The Jeanette Archibald Memorial Trophy will be played for on Saturday 25th October. If you and your lady partner wish to play make sure your name is on the starting sheet located on the main notice board.

We continue to welcome new members to the club and are very pleased to welcome Robert Martin. Robert is very keen to obtain his handicap and play in his first medal. We wish him well. It is also pleasing to welcome back Kevin Wylie. Kevin has recently been very busy work wise and did not renew his membership until recently. Kevin is a fine player and hopefully once he regains some form may push for a place in the Winter League squad.

It is also exciting to welcome our latest associate Members. Ian MacPherson from Doncaster, Derek Slack from Middlesbrough and Tony Levitt from Guisborough. There is a lot of work going on behind the scenes at the moment and it is all geared towards improving and driving the club forward. I hope in time you will see the results of our efforts and in turn enjoy the benefits as these are passed to you, the MOCGC members.

Enjoy your game.
