Despite the weather staying fine, the dreaded 'Bar Breeze was blowing to make the match a true test of links golf.  The course was a credit to Dunbar Golf club and played strong and true.

Our lead pair of Ross Fergus and Euan Glen were up against it as Dunbar fielded two very low handicappers of 1 & 2 respectively. Both lads competed well but were up against better players on the day. Keiran Blyth and Nathan Free restored the balance with both recording fine 6&5 wins.

The real pressure fell on the the last two matches and Grant Campbell and Joseph Scott had the result on their shoulders. Both young men played their best but on the day could not sink the putts they needed to turn their matches around. Especially unfortunate was young Joe Scott who battled back from 4 down after 5 holes to only 1 down with five to play. Unfortunately the golfing gods were not with him and eventually had to accept defeat at the 16th. Joe proved what excellent spirit exists with our youngsters and despite the loss all who witnessed the matches agreed the result was always in the balance.
